Question of the Week # 1

I thought that it might be fun to start a Question of the Week post to get some discussions going. We'll skip the question of "Who is better for Bella: Edward or Jacob?" so as not to start chaos with the first post. I want to get the creative juices flowing so how about we get the ball rolling with this...."How would Twilight be different if Bella was the vampire and Edward was the human?" Can't wait to see what you come up with!

  1. Allie, hum. You know I have pondered this all week. Certainly an interesting switch. Well, you know me, Jake would probably not be in the picutre :P. However, I doubt all of us would be drooling over Bella the vampire. A whole new set of rules apply with this switch. I have to say it would make Bella much more interesting if she started out the vampire. I like Bella in the movie much more than Bella in the books........Marsha AKA Bitten also

  2. When imagining that scenario I kept coming back to the thought of would they have ended up together??? We all know what rules teenage boys and I wonder if an Edward that didn’t have +90 years to ponder the importance and complexities of relationships, would have fallen in love as easily? He might have been attracted to vampire Bella (as all their prey are) but would he have reached out enough to overcome her fears and hesitancy? I believe that vampire Bella would still have the same insecurities as human Bella, only magnified by this self-loathing of being a monster and a self-sacrificing nature. What do you think?

  3. Been thinking about this a lot too, and wondering if maybe human Edward could be one of those guys that likes older women, which Bella would be as a vampire. Maybe he would be even more intrigued by her as a vampire, than as if she was human? I don't think vampire Bella would be as clumsy, since they all have a sense of balance and speed as vampires. I don't think that would look too good if she was tripping all over herself at that speed. LOL Edward on the other hand, as human, I think he would probably just be like a needle in a haystack in a crowd of people. I don't think he would look as good as a human as he does as vampire. I think his whole demeanor and his expressions would not be as sophisticated as a human and I think that is part of what attracts us to him in the first place. He is so polite and well mannered as a vampire, but I don't think he would be like that as a human. This gives you a lot to think about, that's for sure. So, thanks Allie! What do you guys think? 4. I don’t know that I think Edward would be another needle in haystack. I think his long life has cultivated him and adds and air of mystery, but I think there are some essential traits that he would retain as a human. You can tell from the family dynamic that he is a natural born leader and when he’s not brooding he’s very charming. The book said that he was able to read minds when he became a vampire as a result being very intuitive in his human life. I see him being student body president/class valedictorian and popular (especially with the ladies). Andrew McCarthy’s character in Pretty in Pink or Freddie Prinze Jr.’s character in She’s All That come to mind…….the handsome, popular boy who is secretly a geek at heart. =)
